Bibles Bibles

Banners about it are all over the net. The video itself has been viewed nearly 100,000 times. We are of course referring to the phenoma that has struck a cord with Christians everywhere and is known as 'Bibles Bibles'.

Proclaima was fortunate to get some quality time with the creator of the project. Simply Andy is  an articulate, energetic individual we wondered how he would respond to a quick-fire round of questions.

DJP :Hi Simply Andy and welcome to UK Gospel Music Dot Com. It seems everywhere we go online we see banners urging us to text 81700 for Bibles Bibles ... so tell us what's all about?

SA: We shot the Bibles, Bibles video in September 07 and since then its been on youtube and received over 90,000 hits and submitted it in to channel U for their show U Tell Us. That lasted for 3 weeks and people had to text Bible in to vote for the video. This competition is finished and we are waiting for the results. I actually didn’t do the banner

DJP: The video is awesome (readers scroll down to watch it) who produced it and where was it shot?

SA:The Video was organised by a company called Impact Enterprises (www.impactenterprises.co.uk). It is their first project we have done. We found a venue and green screened a section and shot it there.

DJP: Apparantly Star Wars Episode 3 cost $380Million to make ... was your shoot a big budget production?

SA: It should have been a lot of dollaz, but by the grace of God, I didn’t pay a Penny. It was mainly sponsored by the Producer, Candy Ellie but as far as I am concerned, we had no major backers.

DJP: Seriously though the message of the video is awesome and directly addresses the problem of weapons being used i.e. knifes. It seems the UK has gone crazy. What's your perspective on this?

SA: From speaking to young people, its not that they necessarily want to stab people or kill people but it’s a thing of them being afraid of the next person so they carry just in case the other person is carrying. They are ready to react just in case the other person is ready to react.

DJP: Given that's how they feel, what are you looking to achieve?

SA: Initially, It’s to get rid of this Brap, Brap culture or introduce an alternative. I totally believe that the BIBLE is the answer for this generation so to solve a lot of the problems, Unless our heads are in the Bible, the Bible, Bibles – In the words of Icie.

DJP:Can we give people a link to download the track or do they need to buy it?

SA:They can download the track for free but there is an EP coming out called Simply Andy presents THE GOOD NEWS… and this product will be for sale.

DJP:Apart from the video and a couple of shows, most the time I have seen you doing comedy. Whats happening with this part of your career?

SA:I am actually in the process of getting my material outside of the Gospel circles and it is going very well. I believe although there is a great presence of Christians in the gospel circles, we need to make IMPACT in the commercial circuit also.

DJP: Anything you want to say to the people about anything , events etc?

SA: Thanks for all the support. It is greatly appreciated. I pray that this is not the only attempt to getting EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN MATERIAL ON THE SECULAR/ COMMERCIAL PLATFORMS. If you are an artist, keep doing your thing and don’t get comfortable with the gospel concerts because the real people that need to hear it probably wouldn’t be at these shows…… People out there need to know what we are talking about so cutting a long story short, DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF TO JUST CHURCH because our communities need to be affected also.
