The company describes this as their latest edition of ‘cool’ by producing exclusive personalised badges in a range entitled ‘Say Something!’ The first slogan to appear on brightly coloured badges is the slogan ‘Jesus is my Logo’ with more to follow in the coming weeks.
Founding director Tope Chiedozie, (also a member of the successful UK Grime duo Commission), is confident that the range of badge’s will have instant appeal.
“With ‘Say Something!’ we’re utilising the power to say so much, in such a small amount of space. The badge range itself is based on the thinking that badges are, in effect, statements and we encourage everyone to make a statement and say something to the on-looking world through our personalised badge range,” says Tope.
Icepix seeks to redefine the meaning of cool by shifting the power of thinking and taste back to the individual as opposed to the influence of a mass media-driven society.
He comments: “Our tagline ‘re-defining cool’ is testament to our belief of thinking which seeks to acknowledge the status quo and then turn it on its head. This is the kind of mentality we are working with in all that we touch. We dictate what is ‘in’ and what is fashionable against the backdrop of a world that forces us into a corner and force feeds us with its own values and beliefs.”
Badges may have been made redundant in certain sectors of the fashion industry but this doesn’t faze the budding entrepreneur. “The badge, as an accessory has been off the scene for a minute, but we’re bringing the badge back!” Tope exclaims.
