Gunz Down Gunz Down Tour Confirmed

At a time when the UK teen murder rate has leaped to 11 for 2008 "Tru Skool" Hip-Hop pioneers, GreenJade and urban youth charity XLP, have joined forces once again to do a week long presentation of the Gunz Down Schools Tour starting on Monday 31st  March 2008 at 8 schools in Tower Hamlets in London, to educate children on the dangers of carrying knives, firearms and gang involvement. GreenJade will be giving away free copies of the track "Gunz Down" on their website

XLP and GreenJade, the award winning South London quintet, were recently labelled by the Evening Standard as a "voice that needs to be heard" are now in their third academic year of the Gunz Down Schools Tour, which incorporates an hour long show with music, drama and film to hammer home the importance of making positive decisions that could save a life and addresses the issue of the UK's growing gun and knife culture amongst some of our young people. The show is then supported by a program of lesson with the aim to get students to stop and think, instead of just reacting, because within that split second a life can be saved.

To support the Gunz Down Schools Tour, "The Jade" have also released their third album "LIFE as We Know It" available now through iTunes and due to be physically released on 7/7/08. The album discusses life's reality as opposed to the glossy delusions of grandeur often perpetuated by hip hop artists and includes the song "Gunz Down".
