Gun Crime
In recent years Britain has seen an increase in the level of gun crime. Imagine the changes would come about if those people that feel motivated to carry guns would give their lives to God. This poem is for those that carry guns….
I know that there’s some things that you need to know-
There’s Someone that knows you and understands you better than you do
And therefore understands why you do the things that you do.
Christ knows what you’ve been going through
And understands that some of the reasons why you do the things that you do
Is a result of the things that you’ve been going through
Because your past and present experiences have affected you,
But Christ sees the life that you choose
And wants you to know that He has something better for you.
Do you realise that you have a choice?
You say that you don’t have a choice
But it could be that know one’s helped you to realise that you have a choice.
You have a choice.
Do you realise that you have a voice?
Do you realise that Christ will direct your paths if you just ask?
Look outside of what you see as your choice
And cry out to the Lord with your voice.
Your recognition and your status doesn’t come through the use of a gun;
Through shooting someone’s son
And neither is it defined through shooting a next person with your gun,
Playfully shooting them for the sake of fun.
Look to the Higher Power that knows that you’re hurting deep within
And knows that deep within
That you desire a greater life than the one that you’re in,
It’s not like you can’t turn life around to Him
Because Christ is the Father that is the forgiver of sin.
Turn your life to the One True Ultimate Forgiver,
Don’t be part of the picture that bores another killer,
Give your life to the Father,
Don’t allow your circumstances to be your dictator.
Put your weapon down
And give your life to Him so that He can turn it around,
For through Him you’ve found foundation
And life
And through Him you are more than the person that you think you see,
Through Him you are free.
