Mary Mary - The Countdown Begins
Hit-making sister duo Mary Mary are gearing up for their first visit to England's North West region when they headline this year's He Lives concert at the De Vere Whites Hotel 'Premier Suite' in Bolton, Greater Manchester on Sat 26 April.
Shackles (Praise You)' is probably the best known Mary Mary song but their current Gold-certified album 'Mary Mary' also contains a number of massive US radio smashes including the singles 'Heaven' which samples the 70s groover 'Want Ads' (Honey Cone) and the sultry ballad 'Yesterday'. So it goes without saying, Gospel music fans can look forward to a stellar performance from one of the biggest breakthrough global acts on the scene from the last eight years.
Behind the scenes, He Lives organisers are preparing for another roof-raising session with the last three events drawing thousands of revellers who were set on enjoying a night of inspirational music from both the UK and US.
Keen to connect with audiences outside of the immediate North catchment area, He Lives have arranged a coach service from Manchester's central Piccadilly Train Station which departs at 4pm on the day of the concert taking passengers direct to the De Vere Whites Hotel. The return drop off at the station is at 11pm. Costing just £6 per person (non-refundable), this allows for ease of train-travel to a number of UK cities from Manchester's Piccadilly Train Station.
"One thing we are trying to do is dispel the myth that Manchester is a faraway out-of-reach place and difficult to get to. There are excellent train connections and great deals on the likes of Virgin Trains or even Megabus where fares start from £1," says He Lives director Bolaji Olatoye.
He Lives ticket holders will not only see the Grammy Award-winning Mary Mary with live band but also a strong collection of homegrown talent. Roger Samuels, Might 'n' Seyi, Witness, Harp and MOBO 2007 winners Gforce will all take to the stage flying the British flag and representing a modern take on UK Gospel music ranging from Hip Hop and Soul influences to Grime and R&B
