 WOW Gospel 2008
At 10 years old the WOW Gospel series continues with … yes you’ve guessed it WOW Gospel 2008.
To be honest I am not a great fan of compilation albums. This is probably as a DJ I am always on the look out for new material and these type of musical projects are often just a pulling together of material already released.
That said I can appreciate the appeal for those with limited budgets and who enjoy variety. WOW Gospel certainly meets both of these criteria, a quick search on Google reveals that the album can be bought for £9.97 which is a small price to pay when you consider you get over thirty tracks.
This two-disc set has something for everyone and kicks off with Kirk Franklins big number ‘Looking for You’, which for those not familiar with the series should provide an indication of the calibre within.
The majority of artists listed come from the main stable of US Gospel labels but in addition to this and as a result in the growth of independent labels the listener is also treated to the gifts of. Juanita Bynum, Youthful Praise, and Potter’s House MassChoir.
Other big names include The Clark Sisters, Mary Mary, Donald Lawrence, Tramaine Hawkins, Richard Smallwood and many many more. In fact to view the full track listing and to listen to samples click here.
