Are You The Weakest Link?

Are You The Weakest Link

One afternoon, during my time of personal prayer & worship, I began to reflect on the state of my generation, particularly those mixed up in gangs and ‘reppin’ ends’. I felt led into intercession; prayer on behalf of the city of Birmingham and generally the UK. As I was praying, the phrase ‘weakest link’ kept coming to me. A deep feeling of conviction came over me; I began to repent… because it seemed that in God’s divine plan of salvation, I was the weakest link. Not just me, but the body of Christ as a whole, ‘we’ have become the weakest link. I feel the need to explain!

“The Lord is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

“Isn't it obvious that all angels are sent to help out with those lined up to receive salvation?” Hebrews 1:14

“Then He said to His disciples, the harvest is indeed plentiful, but the labourers are few.” Matthew 9:37

While I was praying God reminded me of those three scriptures… He highlighted the fact that when it comes to winning souls, God is willing, the Angels are willing (it is their duty), even the ‘lost’ are willing! (The harvest is plenty).
Unfortunately the problem lies with us… the ‘labourers’. I’m sure we can all confess to getting complacent from time to time and simply not doing enough with what God has given us!

This is a call to repentance.

I have heard Christians talk about how they put away their phones and iPods when they see a gang of youths, because of fear of getting robbed. This came to my mind while I was praying, and I thought “how can we get robbed by the robbed?” Let me break it down; we are children of the living God! Those thugs and crew members have already been stolen by the enemy - they themselves are stolen possessions. It is our duty to claim back what the enemy has stolen! In a sense, ‘they belong to us’ because they belong to the Father, our father in Heaven.
We are all guilty of these wasteful mentalities and as I write this, I write to myself also. The next time you see a group of ‘intimidating’ youths, remember who they belong to and ask God to help you see them the way he sees them. You will soon be filled with a ‘Paul’ boldness to preach the good news of salvation. Fear? What fear?

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 & Psalms 91:11-13

Prior to the ‘subtle’ warning and repentance: Through a dream, God quite specifically showed me that “demonic forces” were responsible for the violent knife crime that is plaguing our cities.
With the dream came the revelation that much more needs to be done on the spiritual side if we are to change things. All the youth programmes and government funding isn’t going to change anything! These things have been around for ages, yet the streets are getting worse. Don’t try telling a gang member to throw away his gun and his knife; just bring him to Christ and he will do those things anyway. So the revelation was that: it is only through God that real change can occur. Ephesians 6:12
I’ve had revelation like this before but now I’m actually going to do something about it; instead of desperately praying for protection over my friends and family I’m just going to stand up as a child of God and eliminate the threat itself. How can I eliminate the threat?

“It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” Zechariah 4:6

I don’t want to be the weakest link in God’s chain of Salvation, (sounds cheesy, but its real).

“I pray that everyone reading this will be filled with a burning compassion to preach the message of The Kingdom to the lost…wherever it may be.”

God help me, help all of us to spread that good news wherever we go, to truly RECLAIM THE STREETS.

Praise the Lord for his watchmen in the land - Blessings to you servant of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ - yes this is what we are called to do - serve him. Paul said it well when he gets to heaven he wants Christ whom he served to say "welldone, good and faithful servant" this should be our aim to receive such a compliment. The thief did come and robbed us - rather than do as Math 6:33 said, we have gone ahead and desired of the tree of death rather than the tree of life Genesis 1-3. The problem is not with the heavenly host and trinity as you have so rightly fully put it - the problem is with us. Yes me included, we have ignored the example of our Lord when he was tempted by satan himslef and done the opposite of what Jesus did - resisted him until he fled, God was pleased and annointing was heavy on him. Thanks for sharing Eph 6:12 v 13 was brought to memory this morning as I rushed to the bus stop, the armour of God which we have been given - indeed if Christians walked in this the gangs in our cities would not be a problem as we would be clothed in christ who is love itself and sharing the gospel would not be a task - bless you and may you go forth in his power and might to declare his love to the lost and the gift of eternal life through Christ our way truth and life. Shalom
