No Compromise
 |
|
In life there are some things that you are just going to have to deal with. Deal or no deal – you can’t stay in the middle forever.
Jesus says that there is only one way to follow him and that is FULL ON! It’s like wrestling a gorilla you only get a break when the gorilla wants a break!
Why do so many of our music artists talk about who you REPRESENT (if you knowing your repping Jesus go ahead and throw it up
Because when you say that you’re here on behalf of somebody, you’d better be like them as much as possible or you will MISREPRESENT them. Imagine the British diplomat going to a country with bad human rights and saying in International diplomatic meetings, “I can see where you are coming from as a President you’ve got the right in your own country to treat people how you wish!” I don’t think he would represent the British government in the right way!
2 Corinthians 5:20 says “We are therefore, Christ’s Ambassadors as though God was making His appeal through us!”
Paul goes on to say “We implore you on His behalf!” In other words – we’re speaking for him! You get me!
It’s not enough just to be called something. I heard J.John (An evangelist) preach and he said, “a Christian without Christ is just …Ian and he’s just a nice guy!”
Moreover, there are some things that are myths when it comes to getting God’s hand on your life.
1.Living life with an attitude like “everyone else is doing it - so I can!” And still get God’s blessing. (Not gonna get you very far!) 2.Well I can do that ‘cause it doesn’t affect anyone else! (Hmmm Hmm) 3.I just want a touch from God and then I’ll be a man or woman of power and miracles! (Without the lifestyle God isn’t impressed in Quick Fix’s!)
What you do or not do, may not (that you know of) have any impact on someone else but God sees and God thinks how you live 24/7 every second is important!
In the book of James he writes about Abraham and says that he was God’s friend, (mate, pal, my boy, my girl, my brethren or whatever) he was so deep that Abraham could even go and convince God to change His plans regarding destroying Sodom and Gommorah! God even came to Abraham’s tent and said we’ll chat about it here!
Here’s your “I won’t take no for an answer” bit!
Previously on Genesis…Lot was Abraham’s nephew – they were both being blessed… blessed… blessed… blessed (Genesis 13) they were outgrowing all they were given! As a result they had to part ways and Abraham gave Lot the choice
“So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and they parted company. Abram (not yet had God change his name to Abraham lived in the land of Canaan while Lot pitched his tents near Sodom.”
Always look for the keys
‘Lot chose for himself’. As Christians we need to stop the BLAME GAME no one makes us do anything when you are old enough to choose!
Aside – sometimes you didn’t choose what happened to you but it did. (I don’t know your story you don’t know mine. Yours may have had a childhood or tragedy, pain, injustice, abuse. I know a young man who had his best friend die in his arms; another with his mum raped right in front of him, a young girl who suffered abuse at the hands of all the men in her family).
Jesus knows what it’s like to suffer but not be bound by what others had done. All those above are free and now have chosen not to COMPROMISE with their past. I can’t COMPROMISE with my past either if I want to take my place of destiny!
Every temptation is your choice. Not ‘I couldn’t help it’ or ‘I’ve always been this way’. Christ’s power has enabled me (often with struggle, time & tears) to overcome every problem, habit or circumstance in my life!
There are times when I have felt like a hostage but I’m not here to negiotiate with the enemy – I have authority over him and I can choose to walk in it!
Spot the pattern
‘Lot lived amongst’ and ‘pitched his tents near’. By the time the angels come into the city (Genesis 19:1) Lot is sitting in the city gateway! That meant he had position and standing in the city too!
Now read on in Genesis 19 and see the trouble he got in. Not pretty.
He was supposed to be God’s. He misrepresented God. Compromised.
Want to live with NO COMPROMISE? Than don’t part company from where God is at. You can work out for yourself what that means.
