Grand Theft Auto Part 2

There is a great verse in the Bible in a part which is difficult to read and difficult to pronounce.
DEUTERONOMY!
It’s time to get what is Due… from Deu…teronomy!
This is a book full of history and details and is actually Moses’ last sermon, the one he preaches and then dies! He knew it. God knew it. It was here and no further that his life was driving to! If you know this is your last opportunity, then you’re going to put some good stuff in there!
What would you pour out? Well Moses left it full of choices, two ways to live and the results of which choice the Israelites would make.
It also has some pretty hardcore warfare verses in it!
Such as:
“The enemy will bring terror, affliction and distress on you in the city?” 28v57
COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU!
“When you camp against your enemy don’t let anything impure into your camp.” 23v9
“Make no treaty with your enemy!” 7v2b
“When you go to war against an army greater than yours do not be afraid of them!” 20v1
We as Christians have an enemy who won’t leave us day or night without having to fight.
But we have to know who we are in order to stop him stealing our stuff.
When you become a Christian you are saved but then why does Paul (in Ephesians 6) tell us to ‘Take the helmet of salvation’? Because we have to believe it! Walk in it! Take it! Live it! It’s no good getting your dream car but everyday riding the bus because you never pick up the keys. You can see more of God in the eyes of your heart and you can drive through life with the Holy Spirit by your side!
A Grand Theft Auto moment has come to your door, to your driveway, where you park your life. Your vehicle is a target. At this point Deuteronomy accelerates into motion like turbo boost! Sometimes the Word and the Spirit is just Too Fast Too Furious! This is your verse:
“God will defeat your enemies who attack you. They’ll come at you on one road and run away down seven roads.” Deuteronomy 28:5
Your enemy is obvious. He’s coming down one road in your life, using it to come against you.
FAMILY REJECTION HABIT/VICE FRUSTRATION DOUBT GUILT OFFENSE INJUSTICE LONELINESS
Your manual tells you in event of this: “Take your stand then against the devil’s schemes.” “So you will be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” “Stand firm then…” (Ephesians 6: 11-14 my paraphrase).
Can you guess the common fuel to fight as a Christian?
When I was teaching we used to play jokes on some of the pupil’s sending them to other teachers for a long stand… and the other teacher would make them wait there for a while!! Sorry, for all that taxpayers money into education! One thing though standing your ground is not always that easy!
There is a great story in 2 Samuel 23 about a warrior in David’s army called Eleazar when the Philistine army attacked everyone retreated except Eleazar he stood his ground and would not let the enemy get any further!! In any struggle fear can make us take off when if we stand our ground God will not only give us victory but make us an example and hero for others!! That is how you can prove to be a mighty warrior in the Kingdom!!
Sometimes all you can do is just stand your ground, to fight for what you have already won! As you do this with God. The authority that sets in place sends the thief running. Not just back down the one road but God sends them in seven directions. That is where the power in this life really lies, press the pedal to the floor and drive on through!!
Take your stand then against the devil’s schemes in your life and don’t let him take away the gift of life, freedom and destiny that you already have in Christ!
