Having lived in Liverpool I can see why it has been given in the early part of the 21st Century the prestige of being called the Capital City of Culture!
You can hear the sound of the Merseybeat and as Liverpool’s most famous sons sang:
“Baby you can drive my car. Yes I’m gonna be a star. Baby you can drive my car and maybe I’ll love you!” (The Beatles, 1965)
Or if you want a more something more 2000’s: “If you wanna go and take a ride wit me.”
God wants you to watch who your passenger’s are! And what you do on your journey!
This series GRAND THEFT AUTO has given you some thoughts on your destiny and your ministry and the way you can engage with the enemy who is trying to steal and destroy it! You’ve been given a vehicle for God’s grace and it’s time to put it into gear!
His plan is that we should ‘shine like stars’ (Philippians 2). You know light up against a dark backdrop. Be a breath of fresh air in a polluted filled city. Be a natural beauty spot instead of a street alley full of litter! When all around you are living one way, you are living another way, a better way. Ok so you may be swimming upstream, it maybe difficult, but conforming is not how we shine and stand out! Imagine if there was only one type of car?
Most of the world drive their lives in one type of way, when you become a Christian your car gets a radical overhaul!
The problem is we don’t shine so much because we start to let other people do the driving! We have to get our lives in the right direction and drive under our own licence – you cannot take what God has assigned for someone else! Similarly, if you’re the only licensed driver you have responsibility to do the driving; everyone else is illegal! This includes your relationships!!
Ever heard of the term ‘backseat’ driver?
We have to be so careful, that means FULL OF CARE what we let into our car, our vehicle, our life!
Often someone else is not just content to be a passenger but wants to do the driving. The danger is, as innocent as it appears at first, you can end up going places you don’t want to go! No matter how strong in your faith you feel you are!
Sometimes you’re even there and you don’t realise it. Fish in water don’t know they are wet!
I think this is the biggest area that leads people into a CRASH! We have good intentions, we love God, want to follow God but we still feel we have needs, appetite and emotions. And it’s okay to be real about that! Often church just can’t handle the truth!
Then someone comes along and helps fill one of our 5 -a-day.
VALUE APPRECIATION FRIENDSHIP ACCEPTANCE & UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
John 3:16. You know it! Can probably quote it! Let’s make it more of a reality! Build up some nutrition for your soul.

“For God so befriended…”
“For God so accepted…”
“For God so unconditionally loved…”
YOU! That’s your 5 a day!
Think about what love really means. A great chapter is 1 Corinthians 13 and the descriptions there! That basically God not only puts up with me and all I do and never looks back, never gives up on me, always looks for the best in me and His love never quits and never dies! The best thing this is not just what God does but who he is: God IS Love!
Who you let into your car becomes so important! I know that when I bought my car I own the whole works not just like the engine or the seats, it’s all mine!
“Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The Physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body!” 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 (The Message)
God’s got the dealership on you. The exciting thing is, it will always turn out for the best! No one else can ever replace the driving in your car. Let God teach you, train you and you will then be someone who is lifting others from one place in their life to the next.
Don’t let relationships stop you going places with God.
He has the GRANDER plan and it is unfolding just as the Bible said it would!
